Using a guide to travel from Jerusalem towards the Dead Sea is helpful and there is nothing like having your own personal travel guide.
David and I talked on the phone and emailed/facebook-ed several times before we arrived. David was tremendous help in determining our agenda together.
In two days we went to Mount Carmel, did the "the Jesus tour" (Nazareth to Galilee and the Jordan River), climbed Masada, explored the Ein Gedi, floated on the Dead Sea, enjoyed a spa, visited some monasteries, and ate some wonderful food. David took us to more places than I even had on the agenda... but he knew we would love it.
My kids love David and we had so much fun as a family.
David is also a great photographer. I let Dave use my Canon DSLR and the photos he took were fantastic. David helped to make our visit to Israel one of the best vacations we have ever had, and my kids have visited nearly 30 countries.
David Cherny was more than a guide to us. He is a great host and ambassador for Israel and after knowing David through our trips we would say David has become a friend of the family. It was in December 2010 that we visited Israel and I hope to go back someday.

My teenage daughter and I spent 10 days in Israel this spring and did a private tour with David Cherny for 5 days. From the depths of the caves and passages underneath the Old City to the top of mountains, we had an amazing time and great fun. David is incredibly knowledgeable and went out of his way to give us the best tour possible. We travelled in his very comfortable luxury Jeep and visited Jerusalem, Nazareth, Cana, Caesarea, Tiberius, Sea of Galillee, Capernaum, the Jordan river and Ein Gedi, Masada and the Dead Sea, seeing more in a few days than a lot of people might see in 2 weeks. Dave made it very entertaining and is great with teenagers and kids as well as adults. he has a great relaxed style which was good as we spent all our time with him for several days. My daughter and I could not recommend him highly enough to anyone wanting a good English speaking guide who makes it fun as well as instructive.

This was the best way to travel. David turned what could have been a very stressful family trip into a really exciting vacation. His knowledge of the country including all it's religious sites was incredible. Our ages ranged from 75 to 9 and we are both Christians and Jewish, yet he managed to keep us all interested while being completely flexible. We traveled a good part of the country with David in charge, by weeks end we felt like he was one of the family. Thank you so much for such a memorable trip.

We recently returned from a wonderful and amazing trip to Israel with David Cherny. Initially, we were a little concerned about committing our entire 7-day vacation to one guide but our worries were unfounded. David was great, very enthusiastic and so easy and fun to be with. Prior to our trip he was very helpful working with us to plan an incredible itinerary including suggestions for overnight accommodations. We couldn't have been happier with all of the arrangements, the planning and the actual whole trip. David was wonderful. He explained each historical and Biblical site in a way that we could clearly understand and appreciate. We were amazed at his knowledge. We also really enjoyed learning about the present day history of Israel. David’s love of Israel was apparent and we left with a better understanding and appreciation for the country. David is very gregarious and loves talking to and interacting with people. His friendliness led to several unplanned but very special experiences. We would certainly highly recommend David! He provided us with an unbelievable fun and educational experience. It was a trip of a lifetime.

My wife and I could not be happier with our experience touring Israel with licensed private guide, David Cherny. First of all, his native language is English (emigrated from Australia) so it was easy to understand his enlightening dialogue. His vast knowledge of Israel knew no bounds. He was well versed in the history and geography of the country and extremely knowledgeable about the sites important to both Jews and Christians alike. David was personable and attuned to our interests. He made some surprise side trips after discovering the things we loved like art and architecture.
We breezed by cumbersome busloads of tourists and were able to make many more stops in a day than group tours. David’s late model SUV was comfortable and his driving was exemplary. We wish that we had more time exploring Israel but were able to maximize the time we had (5 days) thanks to Mr. Cherny. Highly recommended.
